How to create and configure Group Assignment rules?

Once the devices are all enrolled in the SureMDM solution, it might require the admin to move the devices based on the device model, SSID, or IP address. To achieve this, the admin can create rules to automatically move the devices to a specific group based on the device properties.

Below are the steps to assign the rule to achieve the device assignment.

  1. Login to SureMDM Web Console and click on the settings (icon located at the top right of the screen)
  2. Navigate to Account Settingsand Group Assignment Rulestab
  3. Select Enable Group Assignment Rule check box 
  4. Click Add Rules and enter a Rule Name.
  5. Click Source Groupto select a group that you want to move from the Group List and click Add.
  6. Select Include Subgroups to apply the rules for groups and subgroups. 
  7. Choose a device property from the drop-down menu and select a value and define a rule:
  • Local IP Address
  • Global IP Address
  • Device Model
  • SSID

      Note: Admins can add multiple rules based on device properties.

  1. Click Destination Groupand select a group from Group List where the source group will be moved to, and then click Add.
  2. Click Save
  3. Click Apply
