How to Customize SureLock Home Screen using an HTML file via SureLock Dynamic/Static Job

SureLock provides an effective way of lockdown service that allows businesses to control the access of mobile devices, converting them into dedicated-purpose tools. One of its key features is the ability to customize the SureLock to be used as an actionable Home Screen and tailored to specific workflows using custom and predefined HTML templates.

By enabling the SureLock Home Screen as an actionable dashboard, admins can ensure that users have quick access to the tools and apps they need.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide a detailed guide on customizing the SureLock home screen using an HTML file via a Dynamic or Static Job.

Prerequisites

1.Custom Layout should be enabled under SureLock settings.

2.SureMDM Agent should be v27.41.07(Integrated),  v21.41.07(Stand-Alone) and above.

3.An HTML file with the desired customisation needs to be created.

StepsA SureLock Homescreen can be customized using the Two ways:

From the Preview Section:

1.Select the already configured SureLock Job > click Modify, or select the device and click on SureLock Dynamic Job.

2.Click on Allowed Applications > Visible Applications.

3.Select Preview to configure Wallpaper settings.

4.Navigate to the Wallpaper settings and select HTML File from the Select Wallpaper Source drop down.

5.In the Select HTML file, click on Upload to select and upload the HTML file.

NOTE :
Before uploading the HTML File the required applications to be shown on the Home Screen of SureLock should be allowed inside the SureLock settings. To know the steps on how to allow the applications on the Surelock Home Screen, CLICK HERE.

6.If you want to set the background colour to the SureLock Home screen, Enable Background Colour and select the desired colour.

7.Save the configurations once done and apply the Job on the devices.

From the Dynamic/Static Job:

  • Dynamic SureLock Job:

1.Select the device from the console.

2.Click on the SureLock Dynamic icon in the toolbar.

3.Make the necessary changes to configure multiple wallpapers.


  • Static SureLock Job:

1. Navigate to the Jobs section.

2. Select the already configured SureLock Job.

3. Click on Modify to make the required changes.

4. Navigate to SureLock Settings > Display Settings, click on Custom Home Screen.

5. Under Custom Layout, check Enable Custom Home Layout and click on Ok.

6. Enable Advanced Home Screen Customization and click on Yes.

7. Click on Custom HTML Home Screen Configuration and under HTML Source, select the Type HTML Source Type:

Predefined: This is an HTML file that is created by 42Gears. Click on the arrow mark to download the file, Also you can edit this file to make modifications.

Below are some of the other predefined HTML files.

Custom: When the Type is selected as custom, click on the arrow mark to upload the file from the system. The custom should create and configure the HTML based on the customer’s business requirement before uploading the file.

Note :
The uploaded HTML file will be downloaded and saved to /storage/emulated/0/Documents/42Gears/SureLock on the device.

8. Once the file has been uploaded, click on Done, save the Job and deploy on the devices.
