Troubleshooting “The device already configured for enterprise” pop-up on Profile Owner enrolled devices.

Issue:

When attempting to enroll a device with SureMDM , users encounter a pop-up message that states: “The device already configured for enterprise.” This message appears despite the device not being previously enrolled or the configuration seeming incomplete or corrupt.

Situation:

When managing Android devices in an enterprise environment, encountering issues like the “The device is already configured for enterprise” pop-up can be particularly challenging being considered at the end user level. This message typically appears during the enrollment of a device as a Profile Owner (Bring Your Own Device), indicating that the device has already been configured for enterprise management. Understanding and troubleshooting this issue is crucial for maintaining a smooth and efficient device management process.

Resolution:

Typically, when devices are enrolled in Profile Owner mode, two containers are created: Personal and Work. The message “The device is already configured for enterprise” pop-up appears when attempting to install the SureMDM agent in the Personal Container.

Since the agent is already present in the Work Container, trying to reinstall it in the Personal space triggers this message. To resolve this issue, click the “Uninstall” button when the pop-up appears, which will stop the installation of the agent in the Personal container.
