How to Restrict Users from Signing in with Other Accounts (Google, Microsoft, etc.) in Adobe Acrobat Reader using Managed Configuration

When managing Android devices using SureMDM, administrators may want to prevent users from signing in with personal accounts like Google, Microsoft, or Facebook within the Adobe Acrobat Reader application. This can be achieved by deploying the Managed Configuration for the Adobe Acrobat Reader app.

Purpose

This article guides you through configuring the Managed App Configuration for Adobe Acrobat Reader to restrict sign-in options and enforce Adobe account usage policies.

Prerequisite

  1. Should have an active SureMDM Account.
  2. Android devices are to be enrolled in Device Owner mode.
  3. Android Enterprise is to be configured on the SureMDM Console.
  4. Adobe Acrobat application to be installed on the devices using the Play for Work via SureMDM.

Steps

  1. Log in to the SureMDM Console.
  2. Navigate to Profiles >Android > New Profile > Primary Profile > Application Policy > Add > Play for Work > Adobe Acrobat > Give the configuration a name and make the following configurations based on your requirement:

Note: The above changes can be made in the default profile if you have added the application.

If you are looking to install Adobe Acrobat Reader with the above managed configurations, then you can make use of the Android Patch profile option too.

  1. Once the above configurations are made, deploy them to the devices. The changes below will be noticed on the device end:

Before: Upon launching the app, end users will have access to the following Accounts to sign in:

After: Upon making the changes in the managed configuration for Adobe reader based on your requirement, the following changes will be seen on the device end post-launching the app:

Conclusion: By configuring the appropriate Managed App Configuration settings for Adobe Acrobat Reader, administrators can effectively prevent users from signing in with personal accounts such as Google, Microsoft, or Facebook. This ensures that only authorized enterprise accounts are used for accessing and managing PDF files within the organization, thereby maintaining data security, access control, and compliance with enterprise policies.
