How to Disable the Hard Reset Items and  Fastboot on Lenovo Devices

The purpose of this configuration is to restrict hard reset and fastboot options, preventing any unauthorized access or factory resets. It ensures that the device remains protected and under administrative control at all times. By enforcing these restrictions, the device stays secure, compliant, and continuously monitored. This enhances the overall security and management efficiency through SureMDM.

Purpose

The purpose is to restrict hard reset and fastboot options, preventing unauthorized access or factory resets, ensuring the device stays protected, controlled, and continuously monitored through SureMDM for enhanced security management.

Prerequisites

This procedure will be performed on EA-enabled Lenovo devices.

Steps

Follow the instructions below to perform the above action.

Step 1: Go to the profile section from the top navigation bar.

Step 2: Select the option to create a new profile to set up the new profile





Step 3: Select the primary profile after clicking on ‘New Profile.

Step 3: Search and select the OEM configuration and click on configure.



Step 4: Click and select the Lenovo OEMConfig (Lenovo OEM)



Step 5: Click on expand All and search for the “Disable Fastboot” and “Disable Hard Reset Items”, and enable them




Save the profile and deploy it at the device end; then, a hard reset cannot be performed at the device end, and the device will not be able to move to fastboot.
