How to restrict users from accessing Windows Recovery mode using SureMDM Job

Purpose

For security reasons, administrators can prevent their end users from accessing the Recovery mode that contains Reset this PC option etc.

The purpose of the article is to provide a guide on how to restrict users from accessing Recovery mode using SureMDM Job.

Pre-requisites

Steps

  1. Login to the SureMDM console.
  2. Navigate to Jobs and create a New Job > Windows.
  3. Select Runscript and copy paste the below command

reg add HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer /v SettingsPageVisibility /t REG_SZ /d hide:recovery

  1. Save the Runscript Job.
  2. Deploy the Job on the windows machine, this configuration will block the access of Recovery mode on the windows device.

Conclusion: 

The Recovery mode will be hidden and is not accessible on the windows machine when the end users try through the device settings.
