How to Disable and enable the Backup and restore in Android devices

Purpose

This allows administrators to control whether device data can be backed up and restored. Enabling it lets users save and restore data when needed. Disabling it prevents backup and restoration, improving security and restricting data transfer across devices. For organizations, this helps enforce data security policies, prevent unauthorized data movement, protect sensitive information, and ensure compliance by keeping corporate data within managed devices and controlled environments.

Prerequisites

Supported on DO-enrolled devices running Android 6 and later.

Steps

 1: Go to the profile section from the top navigation bar.





2: Select the option to create a new profile to set up the new profile




 3: Select the primary profile after clicking on ‘New Profile.

4. Click on the System settings and under Device functionality search forEnable Backup and Restore and enable/disable and save the profile and deploy at the device end.
