How to Set the SureLock Administrator Password Using a Run Script Job

Overview

This article explains how to remotely set or update the integrated SureLock Administrator Password on managed Android devices using a Run Script Job in SureMDM.

Purpose

To provide administrators with a centralized method to change the SureLock Administrator Password on a single device or a group of devices without requiring physical access.

Scope

This article applies to:

  • Android devices running SureLock.
  • Devices managed through SureMDM.
  • Administrators with access to create and deploy Run Script Jobs.
  • Single-device and bulk-device password update scenarios.

Prerequisites

  • SureLock must be installed and active on the target devices.
  • Devices must be enrolled in SureMDM and online.
  • Administrator access to the SureMDM Console.
  • The integrated SureLock password feature must be enabled on the device.

Resolution Steps

Step 1: Create a Run Script Job

  1. Navigate to JobsNew JobRun Script.
  2. Enter a suitable Job Name.

Step 2: Insert the SureLock Password Command

  1. In the script editor, navigate to:
    Generic → SureLock → Set Integrated SureLock Admin Password
  2. Enter the desired SureLock Administrator Password.
  3. Click Insert.

The generated script will appear similar to:

!#Suremdm

UpdateIntegratedSLpassword(NewPassword)

Replace NewPassword with the password you want to configure.

Step 3: Save the Job

  1. Review the script.
  2. Click Save to create the Run Script Job.

Applying the Job

Apply to a Single Device

  1. Navigate to Devices.
  2. Select the target device.
  3. Click Apply Job.
  4. Select the newly created Run Script Job.
  5. Click Apply.

Apply to a Device Group

  1. Navigate to Device Groups.
  2. Select the desired device group.
  3. Click Apply Job.
  4. Select the Run Script Job.
  5. Click Apply.

Verification

  1. Wait for the job status to show Completed.
  2. On the target device, launch SureLock Administrator Settings.
  3. Enter the newly configured password.
  4. Verify that access is granted using the updated password.

Result

The SureLock Administrator Password is successfully updated on the selected device or group of devices through a remote Run Script Job.
