Prerequisites
Before configuring the setting, ensure:

- The device is online and synced with the SureMDM console.
- Appropriate administrative permissions are available to configure browser policies.
Configuration Steps
Follow the below steps to configure the policy via SureMDM:
Step 1: Login to SureMDM Console
- Login to the SureMDM web console.
- Navigate to Profiles.
Step 2: Create / Modify Windows Profile
- Click Add Profile.
- Select Windows as the platform.
- Choose the appropriate profile type that supports Chrome configuration.
- Provide a name for the profile.
- Click Next.
Step 3: Configure Chrome Managed Browser Policy
- Navigate to the Managed Browser Configuration section.
- Select Google Chrome.
- In the search bar, search for:
“Apply Proxy Settings Per User”
- Select the policy from the search results.
You will see the following configuration options:
- Enable – Applies proxy settings individually for each user profile.
- Disable – Applies the same proxy settings system-wide across the device.
- Not Configured – Uses the device’s default proxy configuration behavior.
Select the required option as per your deployment requirement.
Recommended: Enable this option when using DLP proxy solutions or environments requiring user-level proxy management.
- Click Save.
Step 4: Publish the Profile
- Click Save.
- Apply the profile to the required device(s) or device group.
- Trigger device sync if required.
Validation Steps
After deployment:
- Sync the device from SureMDM.
- Verify the profile is successfully applied.
- Open Chrome on the device.
- Navigate to the proxy settings configuration.
- Confirm the following behavior:
- Proxy settings are not being overridden unexpectedly.
- Auto Detect settings continue to retain the system default value.
- Users are still able to modify proxy settings if required.
- No conflicts occur with DLP proxy configurations.
Validation Result
This feature has been validated on the HF server.
Observed behavior after enabling Apply Proxy Settings Per User:
- Proxy settings are not getting overridden.
- Auto Detect settings retain the system default value.
- Users are still able to modify proxy settings when required.
- Conflicts with DLP proxy settings are avoided successfully.

- Not Configured uses the device’s existing proxy configuration behavior.
