Details about KPE licensing in Samsung KNOX

Samsung, an OEM partner of 42Gears has decided to deprecate the support for ELM (Enterprise License management) and KLM (KNOX License Management) license keys due to security purposes and will be supporting KPE (KNOX Platform for Enterprise) licenses in the future. The end of service for ELM and KLM license keys will be at the end of December 2020. This calls for certain changes in products.

Below are the two important pointers to take notice of regarding this update.

  1. The EOS for ELM and KLM will be at the end of December 2020, hence we recommend you to upgrade to the latest versions of products in case you face issues with enabling KNOX features in the products.

The versions of the product with KPE licensing support are SureMDM agent v21.76 and above, SureLock v17.86 and above, and SureFox v8.69 and above. Click here for more details.
  2. Product versions with the KPE keys incorporated, will not be able to support silent enabling of KNOX on the devices which are enrolled to SureMDM using KME or under Device Owner mode. Admin can manually enable the KNOX on these devices and deploy them to the field.
