At times, administrators may be required to update the SureMDM Agent. The SureMDM Agent application for macOS devices can now be automatically updated remotely through the SureMDM console.
Purpose:
The purpose of this article is to guide you through how the SureMDM Agent for macOS devices can be updated remotely using the SureMDM console.
Prerequisites:
- You should have a SureMDM account.
- SureMDM agent should be installed on the devices.
Steps
1: How to auto-update SureMDM Agent on multiple devices.
- Login to the SureMDM Console.
- Navigate to Account Settings > Apple Platform Management > Miscellaneous > macOS > Enable the Auto-Update option for SureMDM Agent > Click on Save.
Note: The above option should be enabled to create a job for the SureMDM Agent application auto upgrade.
- To update the SureMDM Agent on multiple macOS devices, navigate to Jobs > New Job > macOS > SureMDM Agent settings > Auto-update of SureMDM Agent > Select Default Account Level Settings from the dropdown menu > Give the job a name and click on save.
- Go to the SureMDM device grid, select a macOS device and apply the SureMDM Agent settings job that was created to update the macOS SureMDM Agent.
Note: It would take 48 hours for the SureMDM Agent application to get updated when the job is applied using the SureMDM Agent settings (Static Job)
Step 2: How to auto-update SureMDM Agent on a single device.
- Alternatively, the SureMDM Agent application for macOS devices can be updated using the dynamic job “Update SureMDM Agent”. However, this option can be used for updating a single device.
- When the above dynamic job is applied on the device, the SureMDM Agent update would take place immediately.
