How to block the device when it is lost or stolen

When the device is stolen or lost, the admin wants to block it. Now SureMDM offers blocking devices through the system settings option available in the Profile.

Purpose

The purpose of this knowledge article is to provide a guide on how to block the device when it is lost or stolen through system settings in the profile from the SureMDM console.

Steps

  1. Log in to the SureMDM console.
  2. Navigate to the Profiles section.
  3. Navigate to the Android tab.
  4. Go to the System Settings and click on Configure.
  1. Enable the Disable Factory Reset.
  1. Provide the Email ID in Google UserID’s for FRP.
  1. Save the profile.

Note : If the Google User ID’s you enter here are invalid or if you forget the credentials of the Google accounts, devices become unusable when you reset them to their factory settings with FRP turned on.

  1. Now go to the Home page and select the device.
  2. Select the three dots above in the console and select the Wipe Device option.

Now if the user is trying to scan the barcode, it prompts for a Gmail ID. To unlock the device, the user must know the Gmail ID to proceed further.
