With SureMDM, IT Admins can view the Cellular Data Usage on company-owned iPhone and iPad devices. This offers a very flexible and convenient way to monitor data usage for a specific time period without interfering with device settings and the overall native experience.
One of the common solutions is to make use of an inbuilt data utilization tool, you can consider Mobile Device Management (MDM ) solution like SureMDM.
To create Data Usage Policy and apply it to enrolled iOS devices, follow the below-mentioned steps:
1. Login to SureMDM Web Console
2. On SureMDM Home, click on Jobs
3. On the Jobs screen, click on New Job
4. On the Select Operating System screen, click on iOS/iPadOS
5. On Create Job screen, click on Data Usage Policy
6. Enter the Job Name, check the Data Usage Policy option.
7. Further, enter the value for Configure Billing Cycle, Billing start date, Configure Mobile Data Limits and Save it.
8. Now, select the device and click on Apply and select the job created in Step 7. Tap on Apply.
9. Once the job is successfully deployed on the device, SureMDM Agent will be launched automatically on the device and will start capturing the data usage details from device.
Note: Data Usage will be shown on SureMDM Console effective only after 24 hours after the job is applied.
To fetch the data usage details, immediately, you can follow the below-mentioned steps:
1. Login to SureMDM Web Console.
2. On SureMDM Home, click on Jobs
3. On the Jobs screen, click on
4. On the Select Operating System screen, click on iOS/iPadOS.
5. On the Create Job screen, click on Run Script
6. In the Run script screen select the Send Data Usage Statistics Immediately option.
7. Below run script will be prompted. Click on Validate and the Insert option.
pull_data_usage_stats 8. Enter the Job Name and Save it. Apply to iPad/iPhone device
9. Once the job is successfully deployed on the device, SureMDM Agent will be launched automatically on the device and will start capturing the data usage details from the device.
Now you will be able to see the Data usage details immediately on the SureMDM console.
