How to check the MX version on the Zebra devices via SureMDM.

Zebra’s MX (Mobility Extensions) version determines the capabilities and compatibility of the Zebra device with various Mobile Device Management features. It’s important to identify the MX version to ensure proper configuration and feature support.
Different MX versions support different features, which is crucial for administrators and developers to manage devices effectively. 

Purpose

This article provides different methods to check the MX version of Zebra Android devices—directly from the device, through the SureMDM Console grid, and via the Dynamic App list.

Steps

  1. From the device end
  1. On the device, open the device’s System Settings Application > Navigate to About phone.
  2. Look for SW components > Locate the MX version of the device.

2. From the SureMDM Console(Grid Columns)

  1. Login to the SureMDM Console.
  2. Open the Device Grid column .
  3. Navigate to Installed Application versions.
  4. Enable the package named MXMF(com.symbol.mxmf)
  5. Click on Save, and check for the MX version on the device grid.

3. From the SureMDM Console(App list)

  1. Select any one Zebra device from the SureMDM console Home page.
  2. Click on the Dynamic apps section.
  3. Select System apps and use the search bar to search for the package id MXMF(com.symbol.mxmf)

Note: If the package ID MXMF(com.symbol.mxmf) is not visible on the grid column or in the Dynamic app list, create a Runcript job with the below script and deploy it on the device. Once the job has been deployed successfully, refresh the Dynamic apps list of the device on the console.
