How to configure ringer mode via SureMDM Android Profiles


The Ringer Mode setting in SureMDM allows administrators to control the sound profile of managed devices remotely. By configuring this option, organizations can ensure devices operate in the desired audio mode, such as normal, silent, or vibrate, based on business requirements.

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to help admins:

  • Enforce appropriate sound settings across devices 
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies
  • Maintain consistency in device behavior

Prerequisites

  1. Should have an active SureMDM Account.
  2. Devices enrolled in SureMDM Console in Device Owner mode. 

Steps

  1. Login to SureMDM Console
  2. Navigate to the Profiles > New Profile > Android > System Settings > Configure > Device Functionality > Ringer Mode:





    Note: If a default profile is already configured, then the above setting can be enabled within the default profile.


Click on the dropdown menu and choose one of the following options:

  • User Choice – Allows the end user to control the ringer mode
  • Normal – Enables sound for calls, notifications, and alerts
  • Silent – Mutes all sounds
  • Vibrate – Enables vibration without sound

  1. Save the profile
  2. Apply the profile to the required device(s) or group(s)
