Purpose
In kiosk or shared device environments, it is important to automatically clear stored browser data to maintain device performance, protect user privacy, and ensure a clean browsing session.
SureLock provides a Schedule Cleanup feature under Browser Preferences that allows administrators to configure automatic cleanup of browser data at defined intervals.
This feature is disabled by default and must be enabled manually.
Prerequisites
- SureLock installed on the device
- Access to SureLock Settings
- Administrator password to access configuration settings
Steps
1. Access Schedule Cleanup
Open SureLock Settings
Navigate to Browser Preferences
Tap on Schedule Cleanup
2. Enable Cleanup
Enable the CleanUp option
3. Configure the following settings:
Time of Execution
Define the interval at which cleanup should run
(Example: Every 23 Hours)
Select Days:
Choose the days on which cleanup should be executed
4. Select Cleanup Options
Once Enable CleanUp is turned ON, select the data types to be cleared:
Clear Cache – Removes temporary internet files
Clear Offline Data – Deletes stored offline website data
Clear Session – Clears active browsing sessions
Clear Cookies – Removes stored cookies
Clear History – Deletes browsing history
Clear Form Data – Removes saved form entries.
Clear Password – Deletes saved login credentials.
Clear Downloaded Files – Removes downloaded files from the browser.
Clear Image Files – Deletes cached/stored image files.
Note: Cleanup options become available only after enabling the CleanUp toggle.
5. Save the Configuration
Tap Done to save the settings
If managed via SureMDM, deploy the updated SureLock Settings Job to devices
Conclusion
Once configured, Scheduled Cleanup automatically clears selected browser data at the defined time and frequency.
This feature helps maintain privacy, optimize performance, and ensure consistent kiosk behavior, especially in public or shared device deployments.
