Purpose
The KB document helps you to configure the battery saver configuration on the Datalogic devices using the SureMDM config policies. To extend device uptime during long shifts, IT admins can use SureMDM and Datalogic OEMConfig to automate power management. By configuring devices to automatically dim screens and limit background power usage when the battery is low, you can prevent interruptions during critical tasks like inventory counts or deliveries and ensure work is completed without device failure.
Prerequisites
- Enrollment: Device must be enrolled in fully managed device owner mode.
- OEM Agent: Please ensure that the Enterprise Agent is installed on the device.
Steps
- Log in to the SureMDM Console.> Choose Profiles > Choose Android > Click the Add >Choose Primary Profile .
- Click the Configure >Profile Name > Choose OEM config policy, select the OEM as Datalogic OEMConfig (Datalogic) > Choose Power and charging, – Choose “Battery saver‘.
- We have four options to configure it based on your requirements.
Enable: Immediately enables battery saver mode on the device.
NOTE: On Android 8, this setting may not persist through a reboot or connection to a charging source
Auto enable: Sets the battery saver mode to be enabled when the battery level falls below the specified trigger level.
Auto enable trigger level: Sets the trigger level (battery percentage) at which battery saver mode will be automatically enabled.
NOTE: The value may be adjusted to the nearest valid option.
Auto disable [Android 10+]: Sets battery saver mode to be automatically disabled when the battery level rises above 90%.
