How to Disable or Block USB Ports or SD Cards on Android Devices using SureLock

For enabling a secure Android kiosk mode on devices, IT admins would want to disable the use of USB ports on Android devices.

Purpose

The purpose of this knowledge article is to provide a guide on achieving complete Android lockdown mode by disabling or blocking USB ports or SD Cards on Android devices with SureLock.

Prerequisites

  • This feature is only available on Samsung devices or platform-signed devices.

Steps

Step 1:  To disable USB on Android devices using SureLock

  1. Launch SureLock.
  2. Access SureLock Admin Settings.
  3. In the Admin Settings screen, tap on SureLock Settings.
  4. Navigate to Disable USB and enable this option.
  5. Save the changes and go back to the SureLock Home screen.

Once enabled, users will be restricted from accessing the USB port on Android devices.

Step 2: To disable OTG or External SD cards on Android devices

  1. Launch SureLock.
  2. Access SureLock Admin Settings.
  3. In the Admin Settings screen, tap on SureLock Settings.
  4. Navigate to Disable OTG/External SD Card and enable this option.
  5. Save the changes and go back to the SureLock Home screen.
