How to Disable the Power and Volume Buttons on Lenovo Devices

The purpose of this setting is to disable hardware keys (power and volume buttons) on Lenovo devices. This prevents users from performing hard resets using key combinations or manually powering off the device. It also blocks access to Safe Mode, ensuring the device remains under full administrative control.

Purpose

To restrict device control by disabling the hardware keys (power and volume buttons) on Lenovo devices. This ensures that users cannot perform a hard reset using key combinations, power off the device manually, or boot the device into Safe Mode.

Prerequisites

This procedure will be performed on EA-enabled Lenovo devices.

Steps

Follow the instructions below to perform the above action.

Step 1: Go to the profile section from the top navigation bar.

Step 2: Select the option to create a new profile to set up the new profile





Step 3: Select the primary profile after clicking on ‘New Profile.

Step 3: Search and select the OEM configuration and click on configure.



Step 4: click and select the Lenovo OEMConfig (Lenovo OEM)



Step 5: Click on expand and search for “power button” and “volume buttons” and enable them


Conclusion

Save the profile and deploy it at the device end; then these volume buttons and power buttons will not work.
