How to disallow a change of WiFi state via Profiles

There are some scenarios where the users will be able to turn off the WiFi; this in turn will change the Nix agent status to offline, and the admins will not be able to monitor the devices or perform any operations on the devices. To avoid this, we can configure one of the settings in the Android profiles.

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to disallow the users from changing the WiFi state, i.e., disallow the users from turning on or off the WiFi state.

Prerequisites

  • The users should have a SureMDM account.
  • Supported for Android 13 and above OS versions.
  • Supported with Nix Agent versions above 27.31.01.

Steps

  1. Login to the SureMDM Console.
  2. Navigate to Profiles, select the OS as Android and click on  Add.
  3. Go to System Settings, click on Configure and select Network.
  4.  Check the option Disallow Change Wi-fi State and click on Save.
  5. Select a device and apply the above profile. You can also apply the above profile to a specific group of devices.
  6. On the device end, the toggle bar would be grayed out, which means the user is not allowed to turn off the WiFi.

Before: Users will be able to turn ON/OFF the Wifi state.

After: Users will not be able to turn on or off the WiFi state.
