How to Enable Play Store Applications in Android Native Kiosk Mode (Without SureLock)


Purpose

This article explains how to enable and allow Google Play Store applications in Kiosk Mode when Native Kiosk is enabled on Android devices. It provides the steps needed to configure the settings properly so that only the required apps are made accessible without compromising the locked-down environment.


Prerequisites

  1. Should have an active SureMDM Account.
  2. Devices to be enrolled to SureMDM Console in Device Owner (Fully Managed).
  3. Android Enterprise account to be configured.

Steps

  1. Login to SureMDM Console.
  2. Navigate to Profiles > New Profile > Android > Application Policy > Add > Play for Work > Search for any applications > Select > Scroll down to find “Allow in Kiosk” > Enable the same > Click on Next > Finish.
  3. Similarly, add all the required applications from Google PlayStore. Once all the apps are added, give the profile a name and save it.

    Note: The above changes can be made in the default profile if you have added the application. Additionally, the same configurations can be done via Android Patch profile.

  4. Once the above configurations are made, the profile can be deployed to the device device.
