How to install SureMDM Agent on MacOS

SureMDM  provides macOS management features such as Profile Restriction, Blacklist/Whitelist Applications, and Wi-Fi Configuration. With the introduction of macOS High Sierra, managing the entire macOS lifecycle from the 42Gears UEM Console has become easier than ever.

In order to manage macOS devices using SureMDM, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Generate and register APNs certificate in SureMDM.
  2. Enrol Mac devices to SureMDM.


The purpose of the article is to provide a guide on how to install SureMDM Agent on MacOS.




Step 1: To enroll macOS devices to SureMDM

1. Click here to download SureMDM Agent on the device.

2. Once the SureMDM Agent.pkg file is downloaded, the SureMDM Agent Installer will be launched.

3. In the installer window, go through each step one by one, starting from Introduction to Summary to install SureMDM Agent on the device.

4. Enter the device password to install the apk.

5. Tap the SureMDM Agent icon to launch the Enroll Device prompt and enter the SureMDM Account ID.

6. Tap Register to enroll the device in the SureMDM  Console.

7. On the SureMDM Agent screen, the following options will be visible:

Status: Once the device is enrolled in SureMDM, the status will show as Online.

Settings: Under Settings option, there are two features:

  • Server Path: Enter the SureMDM URL. 

For example, if the SureMDM URL is https://abc.suremdm.io, then the server path will be abc.suremdm.io.

  • Version: Displays the SureMDM Agent version.

The Mac device will now be enrolled in SureMDM.

Step 2: To uninstall SureMDM Agent from a Mac device

  1. Navigate to the SureMDM Console, select the desired Mac device, and click Delete from the Device Toolbar.
  2. Launch SureMDM Agent on the deleted Mac device.
  3. Tap SureMDM Agent, located at the top left corner (next to the Apple icon) of the device.
  4. Tap Uninstall.

The SureMDM Agent application will be removed from the Mac device.
