Purpose
The purpose of this information is to provide guidance on how to install a Microsoft Edge extension silently without user interaction. It helps administrators automate extension deployment across multiple devices, maintain consistent browser configurations, improve security management, and reduce manual installation efforts in enterprise environments using centralized policies or management tools.
Steps
1. Navigate to the profile section from the top navigation bar.

2. Select the OS – WINDOWS option to create a new profile to set up the new profile or click on modify to edit the existing profile.

3. Select the Browser Management payload in the profile and click on configure.

4. Select the Microsoft Edge browser and click on the configure.

5. Search for Extension, and configure the value for “Control which extension cannot be installed silently” tag

6. Save the profile and deploy to the device. After successful profile Deployment close the browser and launch the Browser again to check the changes.
After profile deployment:-
The extension will be automatically installed in the Microsoft edge and the end user’s will not be able to modify the extension as per the deployed policy.
