How to remove the user-installed trusted credentials certificates from Android devices using Profiles in SureMDM

The certificate in the Profiles section allows the admin to remotely upload corporate certificates and other certificates that are necessary to authenticate the device’s access to the network. Now admins can remove the user-installed trusted credentials certificates on Android devices by configuring the remove certificate option in the profiles section.

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to provide a guide on how to remove the user-installed trusted credentials certificates from Android devices using Profiles in SureMDM.

Prerequisites

  • This feature is supported only on Android 6+ devices enrolled in Android Enterprise.
  • This feature is supported on SureMDM Agent versions >= 27.23.00.

Steps

To remove a Certificate profile and deploy it to the device(s), follow these steps:

  1. Log into the SureMDM web console and navigate to Profiles.
  2. Select OS as Android and click Add (+). Enter the Profile Name.
  3. Select Certificate and click on Remove.
  1.  Once you tap on Remove Certificate Configuration, it will give you a prompt:
    “Remove certificates with user-installed trusted credentials.” Make sure to check this box, and Click OK to save the profile.
  1. Enter the profile name and click Save.
  2. The newly created profile will be listed in the Profiles section.
  3. Return to the Home tab and select the Android device(s) or group(s).
  4. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.
  5. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the created profile and click Apply.
