How to screen record the device during the remote session

A screen recorder is used to record the device screen to share targeted details with required audiences for multiple purposes and requirements. For example, troubleshooting an issue and sharing a short video of the issue.

Purpose

The purpose of this knowledge article is to provide a guide on how to screen record the device’s screen over a remote session.

Prerequisites

  • The feature is currently available only for Android devices.
  • The default time limit for each screen recording session is 30 minutes, and if the recording session reaches 30 minutes, the video recording stops automatically and shows the screen recording completed acknowledgment prompt.

Steps

  1. Login to the SureMDM Web console.
  2. Select the device and initiate a remote session.
  3. Once the remote session is active, beside the device screen, note the option as Screen Recorder.
  1. Click on the Screen Recorder, and on the prompt that appears, click on Yes as seen below.

5. Once the recording starts, note the timer for the same, which can be seen on the right bottom of the remote session screen.

6. Perform the required actions on the device that needs to be shared, and then click on the Stop Recording option available beside the device remote screen.

7. You would be acknowledged that the screen recording is completed and would be asked if you would like to save the same. Click on Yes.

8. Post which, you can note that the video downloads to your local device on which the remote screen session is initiated, and the same can be viewed on your video player as well as shared with the target audience.
