How to Use the Four-Eyes Approval Workflow for Delete from Recycle Bin

Purpose

This article explains the Four-Eyes approval workflow for the Delete from Recycle Bin action in SureMDM. It ensures that any deletion requires review and authorization by a second administrator, enhancing security and preventing accidental or unauthorized removal of devices from the Recycle Bin.

Prerequisites

The Four-Eyes workflow must be enabled by the administrator.

Steps

1.Click the Settings icon in the console, then select account settings.

2.Search for Account Management, and under Account Managed, enable the option “Enable Four-Eyes Framework”.

3.Navigate back to the console home page, select the device, right-click on it, and choose Delete.

4.After deleting, the device will be listed under the Recycle Bin in the console. However, when attempting to delete the device from the console, it cannot be removed because the Four-Eyes option is enabled.

5.Then click on the three-dot menu in the console and select the Four-Eyes option.

6.Then navigate to the Awaiting Approval tab, select the device, and click the Approve button.

7.After approval, the device is removed from the Recycle Bin.

Conclusion

The Four-Eyes framework enhances security by requiring administrator approval before permanently deleting devices from the Recycle Bin. With this feature enabled, users cannot remove devices independently. Deletions are completed only after secondary authorization, ensuring accountability and preventing unauthorized or accidental device removal.
