Purpose
This article explains how SureLock administrators can allow built-in Plugin Apps to provide users controlled access to specific device functionalities without granting access to Android system settings. These light weight function-specific plugin apps do not show on the default device home screen and reflect only within SureLock. SureLock admin can approve these apps for the device users
Prerequisites
- SureLock must be installed on the Android device.
- Administrator access to SureLock Admin Settings.
- Device enrolled and configured in SureLock.
Steps
- Open SureLock Admin Settings -> Click on Allowed Applications.
- Select Visible Apps -> Tap Add App -> Choose Plugin Apps.
- From the list, select the required Plugin Apps and Click on Done to apply the changes.
- The selected plugin apps will now be available to users within the SureLock environment.

Plugin App Descriptions
- App Usage
App Usage allows administrators to monitor application usage on the device, helping track productivity and ensure compliance without providing access to Android system settings.
- Bluetooth Manager
Bluetooth Manager allows users to turn Bluetooth ON or OFF, scan for nearby devices, and pair or unpair Bluetooth devices without accessing Android system settings.
- Brightness Settings
Brightness Settings allows users to adjust the device screen brightness directly within SureLock without accessing Android system settings.
- Flashlight Manager
Flashlight Manager allows users to turn the device flashlight ON or OFF from within the SureLock environment without accessing Android system settings
- Hotspot Manager
Hotspot Manager allows users to enable or disable the mobile hotspot feature without accessing Android system settings or SureLock lockdown settings
- NFC Manager
NFC Manager allows users to enable or disable NFC functionality on the device without accessing Android system settings.
- Phone Manager
By default, SureLock blocks basic phone functionalities such as making or receiving calls. When Phone Manager is allowed, users can make and receive calls from administrator-approved (whitelisted) phone numbers only.
- Security Manager
Security Manager allows users to change the device PIN or password as required by organizational security policies, without accessing Android system settings or SureLock lockdown settings.
Note: This plugin app is not available on Android Nougat.
- Settings Manager
Settings Manager allows users to enable or disable Mobile Data and Data Roaming without accessing Android system settings or SureLock lockdown settings.
Note: This plugin app is not available on Android Nougat.
- Volume Control
Volume Control allows users to adjust media, call, and notification volume levels without accessing Android system settings.
- WiFi Center
WiFi Center allows users to view, connect to, and manage Wi-Fi networks when the device is locked down using SureLock. This is useful for devices that frequently switch Wi-Fi networks or require regular credential updates, without granting access to Android system settings.
