When devices are continuously being used in workplaces, they are bound to run out of charge sooner than expected. Features have been implemented in SureLock to reduce the battery consumption of Android devices.
Options to consider to achieve this are mentioned below.
1. Keep CPU OFF: Sensible use of the CPU by turning it ON or OFF whenever required can reduce the consumption of device battery power. The steps are mentioned below.
i. Launch SureLock Password Prompt by tapping on the screen 5 times within 3 seconds. Enter the SureLock Settings password
ii. On SureLock Admin Settings screen, tap on SureLock Settings
iii. On SureLock Settings screen, tap on Timeout Settings
iv. On the Timeout Settings screen, tap and uncheck Keep CPU On option. Tap on Done to complete
Once done, when the device is in suspended mode, the device will not keep the CPU running.
2. Power Savings settings: There are a set of features under this option to reduce the consumption of device battery power by controlling the device brightness. The steps are mentioned below.
i. Launch SureLock Password Prompt by tapping on the screen 5 times within 3 seconds. Enter the SureLock Settings password
ii. On SureLock Admin Settings screen, tap on SureLock Settings
iii. On SureLock Settings screen, tap on Power Saving Settings
iv. On the Power Saving Settings screen, tap on Enable Power Saving to enable it. You can also control Default Brightness, Brightness On Inactivity and Brightness On Battery Level, etc.,
v.Tap on Done to complete.
Once done, the device will go into the power-saving mode as soon as the device goes into the suspended mode.
3. Enable Sleep Mode After Idle Timeout Action: Similar to Power savings settings, Enable Sleep Mode After Idle Timeout Action forces the device to sleep after a specific time of inactivity, hence reducing the battery consumption of the device. The steps are mentioned below.
i. Launch SureLock Password Prompt by tapping on the screen 5 times within 3 seconds. Enter the SureLock Settings password
ii. On SureLock Admin Settings screen, tap on Timeout Settings
iii. On the Timeout Settings screen, tap on Idle Timeout Settings to enable this option.
iv. Further, tap on the Enable Sleep Mode After Idle Timeout Action option under Idle Timeout Settings to enable it. Tap on Done to complete.
