How to use Two-Way Messaging communication in SureMDM?

SureMDM offers a two-way messaging service for admins to broadcast instructions or notifications to employees directly from the web console. The two-way messaging is done using the Message and Mailbox options available on the web console and device side respectively.

SureMDM offers Plain Text and Rich Text formats for sending messages. While Plain Text is for creating simpler texts without any formatting, the Rich Text option allows admin to change the colour of the text, underline the text, insert order list, as well as create bold and italicize text. At the same time, on the end user side, there is an Inbox option to compose new messages or reply to messages from their devices to console.

With SureMDM’s two-way messaging feature, IT admins can broadcast messages to a single user or multiple users at a time. This feature is especially useful when emergency messages are to be sent out to multiples parties in real time.

Steps to enable two-way messaging feature in SureMDM

1. Select a device in the SureMDM Web Console and click on Message.

2. In Send Message prompt add the subject.

3. Choose Plain Text Message or Rich Text message from the option. Add text in the message text box.

Plain Text Message allows users to send a simple text message to the end user. In case the user selects Rich Text message there will be an option to format the text using the following options:

Bold, Italic, Underline, Bullet Points, Numbering, Link, Font Size, Header 1, Header 2 and Text Color.

4. Select Get Read Notification if the user wants to receive confirmation that the text has been read by the end user.

5. Select Force Read Message if you wish to ensure that the message is read by the end user.

6. You can Enable Buzz if you want the message to pop up with a buzz on the end user device. Add the number of seconds you wish the message to buzz on the device in the Seconds box.

Note: Works only on Android devices.

7. You can also ensure that the message popup closes by itself by enabling the Close Message Popup option. Add the number of seconds after which you want the message to close automatically in the Seconds box.

Note: Enable Buzz and Close Message Popup work on SureMDM Agent Version 13.29 onwards.

8. Choose Rich Text message to format the text. Add text in the text box and format the text using options available:

Bold, Italic, Underline, Bullet Points, Numbering, Link, Font Size, Header 1, Header 2 and Text Color.

Follow the same process to choose between Get Read Notification and Force Read Message.
