How to update Firmware of a Zebra RFID Reader

SureMDM offers the facility of updating the RFID reader firmware remotely. Using this feature the admin can make sure all the RFID readers are updated with the latest available firmware.

Purpose

The purpose of this knowledge article is to provide a guide on how to update Firmware of a Zebra RFID Reader.

Prerequisites

Steps

1. Login to the SureMDM Console.
2. Enroll in the Zebra FX7500/ Zebra FX9600 device (RFID reader)
3. Navigate to the Dynamic Action and click on Firmware Update.
4. Enter the Firmware Update URL or upload the.zip file of the firmware, if already downloaded.
   
   

Case 1: To apply the Firmware to a single device.

1. Follow the steps from 1 to 4.
2. Click Perform Action.

Case 2: To apply the Firmware to multiple devices.

1. Follow the steps from 1 to 4.
2. Click Save.
3. Enter a name to the Job
4. Click Save again to save the Job.
5. Navigate to the Home and select multiple devices.
6. Click Apply to apply the firmware update job to multiple devices.
