How to use Password Policy Compliance Job in SureMDM

In an organization, it is a must to keep the device away from unauthorized access as a part of security and the data from the devices are kept safe. It is a task of an Admin to configure any devices with security such as passwords or pins. SureMDM offers the Admins to configure the password policy and compliance job to action if the device goes out of compliance.

Purpose

The purpose of this knowledge article is to provide a guide on how to use Password Policy Compliance Job in SureMDM.

Prerequisites

  • Configure the password policy using the SureMDM Profiles to enable the password on the devices.
  • In case the device is secured using SureLock, we would need to allow a few services to enable the end user to set the password to the device without exiting the kiosk. The admin can follow the steps by clicking here.

Steps

  1. Login to the SureMDM Console.
  2. Navigate to the Jobs section.
  3. Click + button to create a New Job.
  4. Select the Android platform and click on Compliance Job.
  5. Select the Password Policy tab.
    • Devices should comply with Password Policy applied.
    • Maximum Failed Password Attempts should be.
  6. Next, move to the Out of Compliance Actions and select the action and the delay.

  1. Click OK
  2. Now, go to Home, select the device(s) and Apply the compliance job.

Once configured if the device meets the compliance rule, the device is recognized as out of compliance and the out-of-compliance actions are applied to the device.
