Android 11 Device Enrollment options for SureMDM

Similar to other OS versions of Android, Android 11 also comes with many improvements. And like always we at 42Gears try our best to accommodate these improvements in our products to help our customers have smooth deployment.

While testing our products with Android 11, we have noticed a certain difference with Fresh devices with Android 11 and Devices upgraded to Android 11 from older versions of Android OS.

Below are the important changes admins using SureMDM must know about using Android 11 devices in their deployment.

1. For fresh devices running with Android 11 OS, the best enrollment methods suggested are Device Owner mode, Knox Mobile Enrollment, and Zero Touch enrollment. Due to changes made to certain permissions set in Android 11, these modes are suggested to ensure all the features work as expected.

2. For devices upgraded to Android 11 from older OS versions, granting All File Access permission on the devices will ensure the features work as expected.
Note: This permission has to be granted manually.
